FHA Appraisals/Inspections

I have a lot of clients that are using FHA financing to buy homes. I used FHA financing to buy the home I live in. I cringe, however, when I have a client tell me, “Well, I’m not doing a home inspection because FHA does that for me.” Yikes. Yes, the FHA appraisal does include an “inspection.” But it’s not as comprehensive as a professional home inspection. And it’s not one that focused on your interests. So do yourself a favor. Have a professional home inspection. Always.
