Where is the Housing Market Going?
There are a bunch of sources that try to predict where the housing market is going and they all have different views.
Zillow economists now expect U.S. home prices to increase .5% this year.
The economics team at Realtor.com predicts that the median price of existing homes will rise 5.4% this year.
Home.LLC predicts U.S. home prices will increase 4% this year.
CoreLogic, the real estate data firm predicts a 3% increase.
NAR, the National Association of Realtors, predicts a 1.2% increase.
Freddie Mac predicts a fall of .2% in home prices, and so does the Mortgage Bankers Association (.6%). Fannie Mae also predicts a 1.5% dip in prices.
How does Redfin predict? They say home prices will fall 4%.
Amherst, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs and Housing Wire also predict declines.
