Take Time Every Day to Get Off Your…

This isn’t real estate related, but I found it interesting.

Studies show that sitting for more than 95 percent of the time at work is a health hazard. It also increases the risk of disease and physical injury.

If you work at home, do you get up from your desk more, or less? I have an Apple Watch which reminds me every hour to get off my, well, you know, and walk around for a minute. But did you know sitting for long periods of time is just bad for you?

Calorie burning drops to ONE CALORIE per minute. Gah. The enzymes that break down fat drop by 90 percent. After two hours, your good cholesterol can drop by 20 percent.

So what can you do? Exercise. Get up and Move. You can interrupt sitting by just taking a quick walk around. You should also adjust the seat at your desk from 70 or 90 degrees to 135 degrees (leaning slightly back). That way you’re not hunching over your desk all day.
